YBM Logo Usage Rules
CERTIFICATE AND LOGO USAGE
1.0 PURPOSE
1.1 To define the conditions stipulated for the use of management system audit certificates, and the registered trademarks and logos of YBM and the accreditation body authorizing YBM.
2.0 SCOPE
2.1 This procedure applies to all customers certified by YBM.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 Responsibility for the proper use of certificates, trademarks, and logos lies with the Business Development and Strategy Manager and the Certification Manager.
3.2 The Certification Manager is responsible for sending certificates to customers and providing trademarks and logos.
3.3 The customer is responsible for acting in accordance with this procedure.
3.4 The General Manager is responsible for initiating and maintaining the necessary sanctions for customers acting contrary to this procedure.
4.0 IMPLEMENTATION
4.1
After the successful completion of the YBM certification process, a Certificate is issued containing the scope of application, address, and the audited standard details. While using this certificate, the following points shall be observed:
-
The customer is entitled to use the certificate only with the scope and address stated on the certificate on promotional materials, correspondence, and advertisements.
-
Printed documents, websites, advertising materials, etc. shall clearly indicate that only the management system is certified and shall not imply that a product or service is certified.
-
Any misleading statement regarding certification is not permitted. The certification document or any part of it shall not be used in a misleading manner.
-
The management system audit certificate is valid for three years, provided that surveillance audits are successfully completed.
-
In the event of suspension, withdrawal, or cancellation of certificates by YBM, all advertising activities related to certification shall be discontinued.
-
The management system audit certificate does not relieve the customer from complying with legal requirements.
-
The certificate shall not be used in a manner that could damage the reputation of YBM or the certification system or undermine public trust.
-
In case the certification scope is reduced, all advertising materials shall be revised accordingly.
4.2
Customers who are issued a Management System Audit Certificate are provided with YBM and accreditation body logos. The following conditions apply:
-
The YBM logo may be used alone; the accreditation body logo may only be used together with the YBM logo. The accreditation body logo shall not be used alone. The IAF logo shall not be used by the customer organization either alone or together with the YBM logo.
-
Logos shall be used together with the customer’s name and address information.
-
Logos shall be reproduced on a contrasting background to ensure visibility and integrity.
-
Logos shall be of a size that allows all details to be clearly distinguishable.
-
Accreditation body logos shall not be larger than or placed separately from the YBM logo.
-
During surveillance audits, customers shall present examples of logo usage to auditors (e.g., websites, documents, brochures, advertisements, or other materials).
-
Guidelines and documents related to the use of accreditation body logos are fully applicable (TÜRKAK Guide R-10.06, IAF ML 2, IAF MLA).
-
Certified customers shall use logos and accompanying text in a manner that avoids ambiguity regarding the certified subject and the YBM brand. Type labels and nameplates are considered part of the product. Under no circumstances shall the wording imply that a product, process, or service is certified. The wording shall refer to:
-
The identification of the certified customer (e.g., brand or name),
-
The type of management system (e.g., quality, environmental) and the applied standard,
-
The YBM brand.
-
-
The use of logos on laboratory test, calibration, and inspection reports is not permitted.
-
The customer shall not use management system certification marks or statements on products, product packaging, or in any manner that could be interpreted as indicating product conformity (printed materials, labels, etc.). This condition is explicitly stated in the Certification Services Agreement (F-030).
4.3
In the event that customers use certificates and logos in violation of this procedure, the General Manager shall determine and initiate the necessary sanctions. These may include requesting corrective actions from the customer, suspension or withdrawal of certificates, publication of the violation, and, if necessary, legal action. All actions taken shall be communicated to the customer in writing.
4.4
Following the termination of the certification agreement, the customer shall cease using YBM certificates and logos and shall return the certificate to YBM upon request.
4.5
The YBM logo is subject to trademark registration by the Turkish Patent Institute. In case of unauthorized use of the YBM logo by third parties, the General Manager is responsible for initiating legal actions in accordance with the Turkish Commercial Code.
